Version 4.3.042 (Oct 2025)
Previous Topic

Note: Some items were in intermediate release 4.3.040 for affected clients.

Design Module

General

[Known Issue] If you use an external PDF printer instead of FF&EZ's built-in PDF generator, the file naming prompt will default to a temporary name instead of the report title. You can press Ctrl-V (the standard Windows "paste" shortcut) to replace it with FF&EZ's suggested report title or enter your own file name. This behavior is due to external PDF printers not being part of FF&EZ itself.

Project List

Fixed: Under certain circumstances related to the display of the billing address, the checkbox that allowed access to the project shipping address was not clickable.

FF&E Worksheet

Fixed: (4.3.040) The "Clone into" command could create non-visible entries. These were correctly filtered out of reports and orders, but displayed an incorrect quantity on the Specification screen's "Usage" section. The most likely scenario for this was if you used "Clone into" on the same target room more than once, selecting only a subset of items from similar source rooms. This was corrected and a utility developed to remove the extraneous entries (see footnote*).

Fixed: If you have been using the "Clone into" command and did not clone all entries from a source room, it may have created the "phantom" entries described above.

The update process for version 4.3.042 automatically locates and removes these and creates a log file to allow you to double-check any affected projects. If any are found, a message will appear during the update that allows you to view this file. The removed entries in the file are duplicates of existing entries in the FF&E Worksheet and show the quantity. The original (visible) entries were included in reports.

Object List

[Enhanced] The Class list is now fully integrated as a table in the database. This fixed the problem described next.

Fixed: If a user's default printer's name included "PDF" in it and they attempted to preview or print a Worksheet report that accessed the Class list, FF&EZ opened a dialog to locate the FFEZClass.dbf file, which was not yet a permanent part of the database. However, the report process had changed the default location to the normal target folder for PDF reports before the Class table was opened. This meant FF&EZ could not find it automatically in the expected location.

Specifications

[Enhanced] (4.3.040) The Pricing Tool has been modified to allow the vendor discount feature to be used with the current query, instead of only the "vendor" or "supplier" options. Note that users should be careful that a query does not include specifications (typically from more than one vendor) that should not be given the same discount.

*If you still wish to check for phantom records manually, there is a special plug-in utility that can optionally be used to check for and remove the extra entries:

  1. If using an external backup utility, run that. Then start FF&EZ (close and restart if it was already running).
  2. If not using an external backup, immediately use Utilities> Back up database to create a basic data backup.
  3. Use Utilities> Run a special form to run "FindMultiOccs.scx" in the data set's "Plugins" folder.
  4. Use the Scan option to see if any data needs to be fixed (this will produce a text file you can review).
  5. If needed, use that utility's Fix option to remove extraneous records (this also produces a text file showing which extra entries were removed).
