Specification Cloning Options
Previous Topic  Next Topic

These options determine what status items are retained when you clone a specification and which ones are cleared (checked items).

Generally, if you are creating a new specification based on an existing one, you will want to clear most if not all status items so that you can use them again in the cycle of approving and pricing, unless 1) the previous status still applies to the new specification or 2) you are making a "backup" copy of a specification you are about to change.

Note that the "Process milestone status" is cleared automatically if any of the items above it are selected, since not doing so could leave the "Process status" field mismatched to the others.

Any fields that you do not use can be cleared or left alone, depending on whether a preset option is easiest. For more about the Clone command, see the main entry under "Specifications List."
