Design Module

General

[Enhanced] Added an [Alt-S] shortcut for the "Search in" tool on the editing screens.

[Enhanced] Miscellaneous adjustments were made to the colors, font sizes and layout consistency of the application to improve readability when expanded to wide-screen size.

[Enhanced] Help System: Split and clarified the software update procedure to use, depending on which existing version was being updated.

[Enhanced] All screens now have a "F1 = Help" reminder. This is clickable and displays the Help system for the currently displayed screen.

Project List

Usage note: When using Add> Import to import a project from another FF&EZ system, select the entire file you received, not anything within it. That is, if you receive an FDA file (project data only), select that file. If you receive an FDZ or ZIP file (AKA a "Windows compressed folder") that contains images, don't open it (that is, don't double-click it); simply select (highlight) the FDZ or ZIP file and continue with the procedure.

[Enhanced]: When setting up any project reports, you can now set the project "Issued" date from the report setup screen (see image below). This will update the project screen automatically. Note: This isn't active on Project Screen reports since they report on the project list not the contents of a specific project.

[Enhanced] The manual "Revision date" option of the reports setup now includes a "calculate" button that will set the overall report revision date equal to the latest revision date found in the specifications. It appears as a [=] button to the right of the manual date entry (see image above). As before, you can choose to have this new date saved to the project screen.

Note: the printing of "revision" dates on purchase orders (if you have the Design/Purchasing system) is not affected by these changes; the revision tracking system continues to handle this.

[Enhanced] The Clone command's option for clearing status flags for cloned project specs now includes the new "Process Status" milestone control.

Vendor List

[Enhanced] Cleaned up the display of alternate addresses on the buttons used to select an address to edit.

[Fixed] New vendors were not being marked as "master" vendors, which is the normal designation for a single instance of a vendor. If you wish to mark all your active, existing vendors as "master" vendors, display the Vendor List and use the Utilities> Set Masters command.

Room List

[New] A new Clone Into command has been added to the  Room List commands. This allows you to select an existing room and clone its contents (or selected usages from its contents) into an existing room in the project. This differs from the Room List screen's normal Clone command, which creates a new room by copying an existing one in its entirety.

The Clone Into command is especially useful if you have created a full list of areas and rooms (for instance, during a project budgeting phase) that do not contain any objects yet but are similar to an existing room. For more information, see the Clone Into entry under the Rooms List commands.

FF&E Worksheet

[Enhanced] The Clone command now allows you to set a default quantity based on the quantity of the source object usage. This will be entered if you simply click on the "Select" column to include a room in the cloning list. This can be disabled or changed as needed while selecting rooms. An "Extended Quantity" column was added to calculate the total quantity to be added of the object usage you are duplicating.

[New] The Rooms List screen's new Clone Into command has been duplicated on this screen (see above). It copies the contents of the room associated with the current Worksheet row as described above.

[Fixed] The "Delete...instead of replace..." option of the Replace command was not working, leaving the object usages unchanged. The normal replacement worked correctly.

[Fixed] When printing large images, the description portion of the first component was moving to the next page too soon.

[Fixed] The "Qty/Room" column on the "Quote/Contract by Area, Room w/Terms and Conditions" report did not show any quantities. This did not happen for the other quote formats.

Object List

[Fixed] The Add> Import command was unable to locate a temporary file and caused the software to crash. This may have only affected intermediate builds after the last official release.

Specifications List

[Enhanced] The shipping destination column now has color coding to help highlight items being shipped to non-project destinations.

[New] There is now a video demonstration of the Pricing Tool at the FF&EZ Youtube site.

[New] In the "Specification Status" section, a new "Process status" field allows you to track more detailed milestones in the process leading up to releasing a product for ordering. In addition to the standalone fields for "Design Approved" and "Owner Approved," you can now set a numerical process status value from 0 to 5:

0-Not applicable
1-Approved for pricing
2-Pricing requested
3-Price quote received
4-Pricing approved
5-Approved for ordering

This status changes automatically if 1) it is not set to 0 and other related fields on this screen are updated (more on the Specifications List entry). This field will eventually be tied to some reports or utilities to allow updating the status of multiple specifications.

[Enhanced] The Clone command's option for clearing status flags in the cloned spec now includes the new "Process Status" milestone control described above.

[Fixed] When the blue "info dot" displayed information about the   specification's vendor, the "double-click to edit" option displayed a new, blank vendor instead of the current one.

Purchasing Module

(These only apply if you have the Design/Purchasing version)

FF&E Worksheet

[Fixed] In some cases where suppliers were assigned to products from multiple manufacturer vendors, the count of orders that would be created by the Order... command was not correct. This did not affect the orders themselves.

Orders

[Enhanced] The "additional" freight and "additional" tax item types include a pop-up reminder that these aren't needed unless they have been invoiced separately after the order has been reconciled with the "Enter Vendor Final Invoices" command. Otherwise, freight and tax amounts are considered to be estimates or quotes and you only need to update the freight quote and tax rate or quote on the Order screen.

Usage Note: When adding lump sum discounts or adjustments to an order's FF&E that has not been reconciled with Enter Vendor Final Invoices, do not use the "Document Ref" fields, since they mark the item as being reconciled. These will be filled out when you use Enter Vendor Final Invoices at the appropriate time.

[Enhanced] The shipping destination column now has color coding to help highlight orders being shipped to non-project destinations.

[Enhanced] The shipping address display uses a slightly smaller font size to avoid cutting off international addresses containing more than five lines.

[Fixed] The instructions that appear for special item types have been revised to be more clear and to fix an "overflow" problem that hid some of the text in some display sizes.

[Fixed] When adding a manually created order, it was difficult to create a non-project order because the "Client" field was disabled unless you re-selected "NONE" for the project.

Expediting

Modified: In order to enable the [Alt-S] shortcut for the "Search in" tool on all editing screens, the shortcuts for two commands on this screen have been changed (the new [Alt] shortcut is shown by the underlined letter):

Update Item Status

Update Order Status

[Enhanced] Added date ranges on the following reports:

Receiving Report
Shipping List
Shipping Report

The date ranges can be used to generate a report for items marked as shipped or received on a specific date or range of dates. This eliminates the need to use a query for this type of filter.

[Fixed] In a recent version, switching from Orders screen to the Expediting screen caused the latter to locate the current order (which is correct) but then move down one line (not correct).

Invoices

[New] An "Invoice sent" field allows you to note when an invoice was first transmitted to a client. A "Today" button next to this field will trigger editing mode and enter the current date, which you can simply save or use the "+" and "-" shortcut keys to adjust.

[Fixed] The "Amount" field in the invoice items list at the bottom did not show the unit amount for each line item (the extended amount was correct).
